School of Education students at Southern New Hampshire University have started a student chapter of ASCD. Students volunteered at the NHASCD conference in October held at CR Sparks. SNHU students joined with chapter members from PSU to interview Heidi Hayes Jacobs and help out at the conference (see below). At their December meeting students chose officers and planned their events for the year. The kick-off event for the new chapter will be a drive for area students. Plans are underway to collect books and school supplies to help needy classrooms at a time when resources are depleted. Students are excited about the opportunities that the new chapter brings and looking forward to being a part of ASCD.
