NHASCD represented at the 2011 Leader to Leader Conference

ASCD is the international umbrella organization for over sixty international and state affiliates, including NHASCD.

Each year ASCD sponsors numerous institutes, conferences, and on-line webinars as well as specialized invitational events such as its fall Legislative Advocacy Conference and its summer Leader to Leader [L2L] Conference.

At the July, 2011, L2L conference, three NHASCD delegates joined over 200 educational leaders from all over the United States as well as Canada, Argentina, Finland, and the Caribbean for a meeting in Chantilly, Virginia.  At the opening and closing general sessions, ASCD leaders were charged to join ASCD’s commitment in “Revolutionizing the Way We Learn”; these sessions, facilitated by the Next Institute were interactive experiences designed to provoke new and more successful ways of addressing and influencing current educational issues at the state and national levels.  Other sessions focused on leaders from state affiliates meeting to discuss a wide range of current educational challenges, and opportunities.  

Representing NHASCD were the following delegates:  NHASCD President William Carozza, Principal of the Harold Martin School in Hopkinton, NH; Roberta Tenney, Chair of the NHASCD Influence and Advocacy Committee and Administrator, NH Dept. of Education; and Susan Copley, NHASCD Exec. Director.
